FAQ

Straight answers for athletes & families.

The basics

Who is this for?+

Skiers, snowboarders, and snowmobilers — park laps, resort racing, and remote sled trips. Amateur sessions and professional competition both qualify.

How does it help when something goes wrong?+

Call 911 (or local emergency services) first. Then one call to GME ACTION / Global Medevac’s 24/7 dispatch line starts coordination: air ambulance, helicopter, or ground transport to the right facility — and the trip home when medically appropriate.

Are pros and amateurs both covered?+

Yes. Coverage applies to both amateur and professional participation — practice, training, events, and competitions. If an event/promoter/team already provides medical transport benefits, those must be applied first. Agreement eligibility, benefit limits and exclusions still apply.

Is this insurance?+

No. GME ACTION is a medical transport membership — not health or travel insurance. It does not pay hospital bills or replace 911. Benefits are governed by the Membership Agreement.

Where am I covered?+

The Basic Coverage Area includes the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas and Caribbean islands, with service-specific limits. Worldwide benefits require itinerary notice at least 10 days before travel and written confirmation, apply for up to 90 days per trip, and have a $20,000 limit for the specified services. Excluded destinations and other agreement conditions apply.

What’s included

What happens after I enroll?+

Choose Individual or Family and pay securely, then complete your enrollment information. Once payment and required information are complete, we’ll prepare your membership card and send your details within 3–5 business days. Your details will confirm when coverage begins.

What’s included at a high level?+

Emergency air, helicopter, and ground transport coordination; medical repatriation when appropriate; companion and visitor support; vehicle/pet return options; and concierge assistance — all subject to the Membership Agreement.

Individual vs Family?+

Family membership covers the member, an eligible spouse or life partner, and eligible children as defined in the agreement. Children qualify through the end of the month they turn 26, subject to the dependency rules. Family changes must be recorded before an incident and confirmed in writing.

Can I cancel?+

The agreement provides a conditional 30-day cancellation and reimbursement process. Written notice with the required delivery confirmation is necessary; reimbursement may be reduced by services provided. See the agreement for its enrollment and coverage date provisions and the separate first-year satisfaction guarantee.
